WITHIN THE FITNESS INDUSTRY

With fitness being paramount in 2021, health comes first. However, we shouldn’t forget the intrinsic link between our body health and that of our mental wellbeing. It is easy to just validate health as a diet, or/and as a body fat percentage; but it is so much more than that.

To have a healthy overall means less injury rates, better movements, more motivation, good mental health, and wiser food choices. Sometimes the pressure to perform or excel in the gym can ultimately be the very thing causing you to fail.

Your body cannot differentiate stress; whether it’s from your boss driving you insane, or your body being beaten down by a workout. Stress is stress. We may assume that because we feel exercise is helping us, that it is. This isn’t always the case, which is why so many people overtrain and end up burning out. It’s important to recognise when to slow down, when to take an active rest day, and when to take full rest.
