That has been our tagline since opening the doors back in 2015. Why? Because I really believe that after experiencing Wanderlust Fitness Village, the coaches, the community, the education, our guests will have become better humans.

The tagline and goal is not just for aesthetic reasons — we are training the body to be functionally fit, move well and adapt in the way our bodies were meant to. When you are moving your body right and eating well, you’ll be surprised how your whole life can change.

This is also one of the reasons why I decided to create our first ever monthly magazine. So we have another platform to connect and to share what’s vibing on the island that I now happily call home. For me, Wanderlust is more than just a gym — it is a place of congregation for people who are into fitness, wellness, nutrition and like-mindedness. A ‘modern day church of fitness’ if you will. You don’t come here to put on your earphones and exercise; you’re here to connect with other global trotters, digital nomads, tourists and Indonesian locals over a coffee or during an ice bath after smashing a group workout together. The weight loss and overall health is the added bonus which we have had immense success.

It has been a wild ride personally for me in developing Wanderlust from a small gym with only 8 barbells and 12 wall balls, a few plyo-boxes, and one coach (me) into the largest functional training and wellness center on the island with ten different types of group classes, including CrossFit, Bootcamp, Mobility, Gymnastics, and kids fitness to name a few.

Wanderlust Fitness Village is a community-based educational program. Here you will learn functional ways of moving better. Even knowing how to squat the right way could have a profound impact on your wellbeing. It’s about being aligned with your body and not just building muscles; it’s about how to use those muscles and how to move your body well.

The success of Wanderlust began with something I love - fitness and travelling. I spent years backpacking and coaching throughout Asia before finally settling in Bali where I decided to create my own place. I saw a need at the time and knew that I could create a place where I could transform people’s lives for the better. And I could do it with my own vision, my own vibe, and my own passion.

So all this started with a simple pursuit of passion. And as the saying goes, when you lead with passion, success will follow. Creating this space is by far the favourite thing I have done in my career.

The bonus of being located in Bali; the island and the people. I love Bali because of the smile I encounter in every corner, the beautiful weather, and the simplicity of living. Of all the places I travelled to, I finally found the one that I could live in.

And of course, there are the people in the Wanderlust community.

I often likened the experience here as a ‘fitness hostel’ where people don’t know each other in the beginning. People are coming from different countries or completely alone but by the time they are finished here, they have new friends and shared experiences. The people make this community, and they are the reason it is going well.

So thank YOU for being part of Wanderlust Fitness Village.

Happy Reading!
