ED THE STREET DOG

FURPARENTS, NOEL & MARI

A FEW MONTHS AGO, A SCRUFFY STREET DOG CAME INTO PARADISE CAFÉ. BLIND AND COVERED IN OPEN WOUNDS AND PARASITES, HE LIMPED IN PAIN.

The owners, Leasel and Brendan fed him and other strays, giving them medicine and attention. The café regulars were charmed by his affectionate spirit while he sat at our feet all day. We named him Ed, because he looks like the goofy Hyena in The Lion King. We watched with delight as he became light on his feet and comfortable in his skin.

He often returned with new wounds, after a while, we couldn’t bear to send him back to the street. We adopted him into our family and he has varied our days and filled us with joy. Previously, our household was uninterested in having a dog, but after falling in love with Ed, our home is bursting with love and are so happy our family became three. There is a saying that a village is judged by how it treats its strays. We proud to be part of this compassionate community that cares for its strays.
