WHEN DID YOU MOVE TO BALI? This June will be five years since I came to Bali for the very first time. I still remember that hungover flight from Singapore and my first feelings when I landed. It felt like I was home. The atmosphere, vibe, people, and even the air felt mine that this is where I belong. For that reason, I kept coming back again and again.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR ROOTS? I was born in Vladivostok, a city by the sea in the South Eastern part of Russia, close to China, Korea, and Japan. My stepfather played the trumpet and my aunt was an opera singer. It was he who introduced me to the Blues, while my mom contributed by enlisting me into choreography and piano classes. However, my true love for music began at my first electronic music parties in Moscow. After that I started collecting tracks and became addicted, digging in deeper and deeper.

WHAT KIND OF MUSIC YOU PLAYED? Like the changing of the seasons, my music mood often changes as well. Before it was techno wildness, right now, with all the COVID situation and seeing how people struggle, my work is more uplifting and cheerful. That’s why now it’s all about disco, jazz, soulful house, and funky tune. That is my way of bringing positive emotions to people in these uncertain times. Especially in Bali, where everything is supposed to be light and full of beauty.

WHO ARE YOUR INFLUENCES? Frankie Knuckles and his great heart and big soul. It was him who brought the disco revenge and made so many people dance. And also many of my talented friends. I love and admire their passion and everything that they are doing. It’s truly contagious.
